Tommi Ylijoki, PGA Professional
Tommi Ylijoki comes to Delray Beach Golf Club after holding various positions throughout Florida. A PGA Member, Tommi originally hails from Finland, and has been playing golf for nearly 30 years.After graduating from the University of Florida in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in History, Tommi spent the next 4 years as the First Assistant Golf Professional and Head Teaching Professional at Haile Plantation Golf & Country Club. Coming down to south Florida, Tommi joined the JCD Sports Group team as an Assistant Golf Professional at West Palm Beach Golf Course. Tommi now serves as Head Golf Professional at Delray Beach Golf Club, managing all daily Golf Operations. During his free time, Tommi enjoys travelling, exercising, and spending time with family and friends.
Rick Durham, PGA Professional
Mr. Durham has been a PGA Professional for over 24 years. Prior to joining the JCD team Mr. Durham was Head Professional at Cypress Creek Country Club for 26 years. Mr. Durham specializes in all phases of junior instruction and assisted area schools with their golf programs. He has been providing adult group and individual instruction for 34 years. Mr. Durham has organized and directed many group and corporate outings and is a skilled calligrapher. Mr. Durham has had three published instruction articles in ‘Golf Illustrated’ magazine. He is certified in all phases of club building and repair. While in college he played on the FAU Golf team which were 1976 NAIA section champions and has competed in many state and local golf tournaments.
Chef Bob Courtemanche
Executive Chef Hi everyone, my name is Robert Courtemanche, Chef Bob. I grew up in Uxbridge, MA, and I’ve been in the restaurant business since the age of 13. I graduated from Johnson & Wales University, and continued my career in the Worcester area before moving to Florida recently. My first three and one-half years in Florida were spent working at Boca West Country Club, followed by Compass Group, Inc.My wife, Joanne, is also in the restaurant business. We presently live in Boynton Beach. I have three children, three step-children, and three grandchildren, with one more on the way.
Beth Mullen Director of Catering and Banquet Services
Ms. Mullen is a graduate of the University of Illinois and has been at the Delray Beach Golf Club since 1998. She has moved through the corporate ladder and was promoted to the Director of Catering in 2002. Her wonderful attitude and level of dedication has meant a significant increase in customer loyalty and monthly sales volume. Ms. Mullen is the point person for coordinating banquets, weddings, private parties or any celebration. Her attention to detail and customer satisfaction has turned the Delray Beach Golf Club facility into a desired location for intimate, glamorous or fun affairs.
Starting his career in catering in the set up department, outstanding work ethic led to his promotion to banquet captain. Years of dedication and hard work at Boca West country club led to a catering management position in one of the largest and finest catering departments in south Florida.Delray Beach golf club looks to utilize Llewellyn’s years of catering experience to enhance the overall experience of each of our guests. Llewellyn brings with him exceptional attention to detail and exemplary customer service.
Golf Course Superintendent Applied Science Degree, Turfgrass Management | Lake City Community College Mr Shields has a passion for golf. He started working in the golf industry at the age of 15 and he still loves it! He earned a degree in turfgrass management and spent the first part of his career in Jacksonville. He was superintendent of the Champions Club at Julington Creek before moving to the exclusive Queen’s Harbor Yacht and Country Club.When he became the superintendent of the NAS Jacksonville Golf Club, one of his first projects was the rebuilding of the greens on all 27 holes of the heavily played course. One of the busiest courses in the military system, NAS Jacksonville saw over 60,000 golf rounds per year. Michael enjoyed the challenge of maintaining great playing conditions year around for all of the active and retired military members. In 2011, Mr. Shields decided to relocate to South Florida to be closer to his family and joined the team at the Polo Club of Boca Raton. Michael was honored to join the staff of the Delray and Lakeview Golf Clubs as the superintendent in May of 2015.
